Your assistance please ladies.

Sorry for the absence, been a bit busy with other things. But I'm back now and I've spent today finishing the Bento Box blocks (Thanks for telling me the name of that block) and also getting these HSTs done. Question now is, which layout do I use for these?

Number one? Pinwheels.

Number Two? A bit more random.

Number Three? Hmm, don't like this one any more! LOL

Or Number Four? I see butterflies here.

Yes thank you for your input son! Some children will do anything to have their photo taken, but usually they grow out of it by 16!

Or should I go totally random? Not sure my tidy mind could cope with that, but I'd try.

Time I let you in on some plans, I think these HSTs will be making up the body of the top, they will be surrounded with the Bento Boxes. The batting I picked up in the charity shop will be in this one, now I just need to find something to back it with.

I managed to find time to do a little cross stitching this week, but not enough to show off. Maybe I'll have a picture in the next couple of days, I'm off to stitch some on it this evening.

Hope your weather is better than mine.

Well I just love pinwheels, but then you have ALL those awful points in the centre of your block. #2 layout is pretty too, not fussed on #3, so my vote is either 1 or 2. Not much help I'm sorry.

Think I like number two as well. Whenever I try random, I always end up with a pattern, will have totry it with my eyes closed

Hi Lou, my thoughts are leaning to option 4 - the butterfly look - they are a favourite for me and I'm finding they creep into all of my quilts I complete lately either in the fabric or the pattern... Let us know what you decide and post a pic of the completed top :) Have a happy day stitching. Hugs Jx

I like pinwheels, but that was before Linda mentioned all the points in the centre.

I think it's lovely that your 16 year old isn't too old for a bit of foolery with his mum.

I love the pinwheels. They look very affective.

It depends on the size of the group of blocks. I have done some scrappy blocks which were almost half square triangles (for Learning at Work Day) and I decided that the diamond (or butterfly) design was best, but I think you need an odd number of blocks, so the diamond is in the middle. otherwise I think pinwheels are always worth the trouble.

I happen to be a big fan of pinwheels. Looking forward to seeing what you decide.

I've always liked a little order in a scrappy look, so I vote for number 4 first and number 1 second. The truth is though, that they all look good in different ways.

Hello Loulee
I normally only lurk, but I'm dying to know... a while back you posted about some job interviews but I can't find anything else. How did they go? Did you get a new job???

I know you asked for help from the ladies, but can I weigh in? :) I like #2, but how about "#2 with a twist"? I've seen this blocks arranged so that it becomes a big zig-zag. So, like every 2 rows you flip the direction of the diagonals. Does that make sense? If not, I can try to find a link / picture. That might look cool with these fabrics.

Bit late commenting on this one. Pinwheels always look nice, but I never do them myself... I like number 2 or perhaps your son could just scramble them up and you could be really random. The prints are fun enough for that sort of thing...
