I quilted!!

I've been working on my Winter Pinwheels quilt. Just to be contrary! Didn't I say I was going to wait a while? LOL
I did as Hunney suggested and put on a wide white border and then proceeded to make a pieced back using some of the left overs. The quilting I have done so far is very simple, I stitched in the ditch diagonally through the pinwheels. You can't see it from the front, but here's a peep at the back.
I know I want to add a dark blue binding, made from more left overs and I'm toying with the idea of adding some applique in those white borders. Any suggestions?
Before getting on with the pinwheels I finished off my Sister in Laws laundry basket. I had thought it may need some elastic around the bottom edge and left a channel for it, but it looks ok to me. Mum is going to take it back to them tomorrow as she is going visiting.
On the knitting front I've finished the front of Joes sweater, and I'm on my way up the back! No cables in the back just rib, rib, rib all the way, so a lot faster.
The Shabby French roses are still resting where I left them, so no progress there.
I'm Not A Fan of This Quilt is now residing over the banister at the top of the stairs, so I get to see quite a lot of it, hopefully in time I'll fall in love again. Then I'd have to come up with a new name for it! Hmmm.......

The girls night out was a blast. We had dinner in an Indian restaurant then moved on to a couple of bars. All good fun. I made a new friend and staggered home at about 3am!! Yes, it's safe to do that here. My new friend, Jojo, is a crafty lady so I'm going to enjoy getting to know her a little better and would love to see some of her work.

That's all my news, so on with the Gratitude's...
1) A great night out.
2) New friendships.
3) 2 relaxing days off.

Such a joy to meet other like minded people. The pin wheel quilt looks stunning with the white border attached

Maybe add some blue snowflakes to the border. It is a beautiful quilt.

Leaving it as is reminds me of antique quilts that had wide borders. Love this and the dark blue binding will finish it off.
