I won!!

Remember a little while ago I said I was going to enter some of my needlecraft into the local show? Well, I fiddled and missed out on the Ramsey show. The smaller towns and villages are now having their shows, they are well spread out so that neighbouring communities can support each other. That's just what I did, I entered two items into the Ballaugh show.

I cross stitched these Fuchsias for my mum, about 10 years ago. I suggested she enter it on my behalf and was delighted to say the least to receive first prize in the cross stitch and tapestry section.
OMG!! I even get silverware!
My other entry also won a prize. It was third place in the 'Any other craft section'. (There was no quilters class)

'The shirt off his back'
There is another local village show in a few weeks, should I try again?

Congratulations, indeed! Your stitchery is gorgeous. I'm sure your mom treasures it--now award-winning :)

Glad you were also recognized for the quilt, that is so fun!

Congratulations Loulee,
You do beautiful work so it is nice to see it being recognized. I also congratulate for taking a risk and entering it for competition. I have shown my work on the blogs and at the guild show and tell. I have not put them in a judged show- perhaps some day.
I love the shirt on your back quilt- and yes you should try again.
warmest regards,
Anna

Congratulations! It is always fun to enter local Shows... the feedback later on is always good to hear...like "I didn't know you sewed" or "when do you get time to do that"...Cheers!

It's always good to support community ventures, I'd say. And a well deserved first for the fuchsias! (Do you have to give the tray back? It'll be a nuisance to keep polished!)
