Lots of changes

Hi folks, sorry I've been gone so long. Hopefully life will settle again and I can get into a new routine which allows time for my blog.
You may remember my husband and I moved in with my Mum just before Christmas. We came here to support her after she was diagnosed with Leukaemia. Sadly we lost Mum on 13th March. She passed here in her home, it was very quick. I was with her to the very end. We cremated her on March 22nd, during a snowstorm that threatened to bring the whole island to a halt. (Some villages are still snowed in but I believe all the power has been restored) I shall miss my Mum.
Losing Mum wasn't the only big change. I also quit my job. I should have done it 2-3 years ago, but circumstances back then were financially different. I wasn't enjoying the work anymore and after nursing my Mum I really didn't want to go back into a caring role just yet. So I'm on the lookout for something completely different. I think perhaps I'll look for a seasonal post, many places take on staff just for the summer. We hope/plan to be in NZ by Christmas.

I'm so sorry about your mother but I'm sure it meant a lot to her to have you caring for her like that. It seems like a time of major changes for you right now but I bet you're looking forward to not doing the job you used to and to the new horizons.

My deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved Mum. What a difficult year you have all had but I'm sure you're glad you took the effort needed to dedicate to her care, and were with her to the end. I can see where you would not want to continue that caring role while hurting so much. Hugs!

So very sorry for your loss. What a blessing for your Mom that you have the skills and could ensure that she had the best possible care right to the end.
As a SCA I understand your need to step away from caring and trust that the right job will avail itself soon. Thinking of you as you step towards your new future.
