Christmas Ornaments

Recently each year I've been making Christmas Ornaments to swap and gift. Inspired by Susan's Angel page I thought I would keep a separate record of my efforts.

I've gone as far back in my photo records as I can. I'm sure I'm missing more than a few  but here goes...

Pre 2004 I created a set of six Windswept Santa ornaments.

I didn't do a great job of recording or finishing them.
We'll revisit them later.
There was a break for a few years, then in 2009 I made these cute Gingerbread Men.

One for me and three as gifts. Too big for the tree mine hangs on the door handle.
I also made these three ornaments to gift and swap.
Two pinwheels.
And a jewel.
2010.
I remember making and gifting dozens of these trees. A  great way to use a few scraps.
I still put several on to my tree each year.
2011 I made a whole set of these beaded and sequined ornaments for my Mum.
They have since come back to me and go on one of my trees every year.

In 2014 I joined in with the SSCS and made this button ball.
I never did make a second one for me.

2016 saw me pulling out my cross stitch  mini kits.
I made about a dozen of these pretty ornaments. Once I ran out of brass style frame I popped them in to wooden hoops.
2017 I revisited the Winswept Santa's, breaking them down and refinishing them.
Now they hang on my tree every year.
No they are not uniform but they look way better than they did.
I'm happy with them.
Also in 2017 I created this chap for my DD Kaileigh.
Also in 2017 I pulled out a box of pieces I had given to my mum, they were mostly cross stitched cards. This one was converted into an ornament.
2018 I made button trees, about 12 again.

2019 My lovely husband Tony helped me to create a dozen fabric covered balls.
They were fun to make.
2020 I pulled this beaded design out of an old Cross stitch magazine.
They were more time consuming and this was the first time I committed to stitching one a month.
I also stitched these two pieces, but didn't complete them.
2021 saw me making another dozen beaded ornaments.
Red this time.
My new found love of EPP came in to play in 2022.
Another dozen ornaments made to swap and gift.
I struggled in 2023 and burnt out not completing my committed 12.
I only achieved nine.
2024
I completed stitching Gnomes from last year.
And managed to stitch all 12 of this years design a cute Kiwi.
While I was looking for trims and backing fabrics I came across those two pieces stitched in 2020 and finished them off too.
A very good year.

Lovely to look at all your ornaments...the button ball gives me an idea - did you use a polystyrene ball?
I think one a month is a grand idea...good luck with it...LOL
& thanks for the credit...though I am sure you would have thought of it some time.
