The year is half way gone!
How did that happen?
This month Deanna has selected number 9 for the chookshed challengers. For me that means I have to make a start on an eye spy quilt top.
I have a bundle of fabrics cut ready, I just need to sort out sashing fabrics.

Problem is... I am really enjoying working on my Down in the Garden stitcheries. My hexies are calling I've acquired another incomplete cross stitch and yesterday not one but two squirrels hopped by.....
I've acquired a bunch of crafty magazines and in the bundle was a pattern for a sweater that my lovely mum made for me back when I was 16-17. I loved it, I wore it out, the elbows were gone and I remember asking Mum if she could fix it. Alas the reply was no.
But here is that very same pattern, in the very same shade of yarn.....
Loulee wants another one!
Mum is no longer here, so I will have to knit my own.
Then Tony got in on the act, he would love a cosy winter jersey please if I'm in the mood to knit..... So I started to look at patterns and yarn for him too. I need more projects like I need a hole in my head, but my fingers are itching for my knitting needles. LOL
Sigh, what's a girl to do?
PULL HER FINGER OUT AND GET SOMETHING FINISHED!
That's what I'm telling myself anyway.
I'm off to drool over pretty mohair yarns.....

That is a gorgeous Jumper Lou. Those squirrels can be pesky things indeed (!!) 😉
Mohair is lovely and warm....I am wearing a mohair jumper as we speak, made from NZ mohair.
You’re going to have some fun knitting. Sounds like me. Always starting new things. Variety is the spice in life
That jumper does look delicious! Hard to resist. xx
We seem to have e same affliction at the moment. My knitting needles went on holidays with me and the slow stitching didn’t make an appearance, but I said it would be slow. That is a really lovely jumper. I wanted to recreate one from my teens, and still have the pattern Mum knitted, but alas, the sizing only goes up to what we would consider a small these days. I’m sure you will get something finished. Deana’s challenge is flexible.
OH, I devolved from strictly following the challenge numbers to changing them around as need and mood dictated to not even doing it anymore because it just didn't happen. If you want to knit that sweater then let the I Spy go. Right? Right.
That's a nice pattern, knitting and wearing this will bring back memories of your teenage years. I'm sure you are clever enough to cast on two projects, one for each of you, and knit away on both!
I think the 2 jumpers have to win. Especially with the weather as it is at the moment.
Decisions Decisions....whilst I enjoy knitting, there is absolutely no point here so I am off the hook for that. But your challenge list is yours - change it if you like/need to. There are only so many hours in a day.
I'm sure it is near freezing over your way too so knit. I have the same problem I have found 3 new projects to start this week alone, and I have found a local crochet group so I will be doing a bit of that too
challenges can be challenging and i try to steer WAY clear of them - it's exciting and inspiring till it isn't (like rushing through a banned book the last three days of the month cuz rules are rules and i was still wrapped up in a twisted tale that another self-inflicted rule said i had to finish reading first) ... it kinda defeats the purpose of reading or stitching or gardening or whatever if there are so many rules that, for right now, you stop finding joy in it...
anywho, i, too, had a (synthetic) mohair hand-knitted cabled sweater when i was a teen - mine was dark brown and i knitted it cuz my mom (who took me to knitting lessons so that i could teach her) didn't knit yet ... your color is MUCH prettier than the chocolate brown that was chosen because the nicer colors weren't on sale...
you certainly don't need my advice or permission ... find what brings you joy - do that!!!
I still have a cardigan my Mom made and a pair of wool socks. Those are just too precious to let wear out. You have lots of projects going on, but it is good to keep our hands busy. Glad you are feeling better.
