🌸 January Intentions

Here we are in a brand new year. I meant to write this post last night while it was still the first of January, but Chooky was Zooming and that took precedence — as it should. So here I am now, scratching something together before I dash off to work.
I mentioned on Zoom (and in a post or two back) that I’d be keeping things simple this month. Just a few gentle, achievable goals to keep me moving forward without inviting chaos. So here they are:

1. Keep working on the scrappy hexie quilt — the one you see here.
I’d like to get it to lap quilt size. I’ve got an inexpensive fleece blanket lined up for backing. I even have a binding fabric. So hopefully I could get it to a completed state.

2. Finish the poppy quilt and get it off the frame — it’s time to make space for something new.

3. Make a start on Jiffy Jonathan’s wedding quilt — my boy and his lovely Josie deserve something stitched with love to anchor them together.

4. Decide on this year’s Christmas ornament — and hopefully make a start, even if I only get as far as sorting supplies.

A sewing room task.
A quilt room task.
And two armchair tasks.

That little lot should keep me out of mischief for a while. And if any squirrels hop by, I’m not allowed to be distracted this month — no wandering off, no new shiny projects. I’ll just give them the hard stare and send them packing. January is for finishing things, not chasing squirrels.

That seems a lot for just January Lou? But what a lovely bunch of projects. Yes those pesky squirrels do come along don't they!

The only new start you may do is the wedding quilt. That will be allowed.
