Advent Acquisition.

Yes, I know we are only just into November, but I ordered this way back in July and it arrived on Thursday.

A New Zealand company, Orderly Stitching makes great stitchy advent calendars each year. I've watched with interest over the last couple of years and decided to take the plunge this time.

Inside the package a cardboard box.

Hmm, boring?
Wait until you see the inside.

Three layers of cute wee boxes, each featuring kiwi characters.
The little penguins are my favourite.

Also in the package was a cute project bag.

It is just as cute on the other side.

Something tells me that this year's projects will be featuring NZ birds.
Hopefully some little penguins.

Inside the bag there are some useful items...

Now I just have to maintain some self control and leave everything alone until the 1st of December.
I'm very excited, I wonder what I'll find inside those little boxes.

In other news, I have been busy during my lunch breaks at work. By the time I have a bite to eat and a drink, there is only 10-15 minutes left, but that is enough, as you know, for me to stitch up a couple of lengths of thread while working through my collection of minis.
The latest is a Santa Ornament.

Another couple of lunch breaks should see the stitching completed, then it will be time for a new one.

These Minis fit very nicely into that pencil case I showed off recently.

I'll need to find a project to stitch that I can use as a cover to put onto the front of the case. It's still a bit boring.

I'm sure I'll come up with something.

Today is our wedding anniversary.
17 years.

Tony bought me beautiful flowers.
My rostered weekend off so, no work today. There are a few chores that need our attention, but hopefully we will both have plenty of time for our crafts, and we have a table booked for dinner this evening.

And finally, we have a new resident at work. She used to be a dressmaker and tailor. She and I were chatting about sewing and knitting and crafty things like that. She told me she has CRAFT disease. I haven't heard of that one. I asked about the symptoms.

Can't

A

Thing.

I was shocked, delighted and amused all in equal measure.
Many of my colleagues have diagnosed themselves with the same condition.
The biggest laugh came when we told the Doctor about it during his rounds. He was at the computer at the time and set off looking for information.
He had a great laugh too and declared that in future, the informal name for dementia would be Craft Disease.
