I seem to be in bag making mode.

I really enjoyed making this little bag yesterday morning before work. I used my seam guide for the first time to quilt lines accross the bag rather than meander all over it.

I started at one end and worked my way along the length. Making forst narrow then wide stripes and back to narrow. On the whole I'm rather pleased with what I did.

I folded my quilted piece in half, then stitched diagonally from the bottom to the top before 'cutting the corners' to make a smaller base.
When I turned it out here's what I had. I used the outer fabric to self bind around the rim and stitched on some handles.
Which I adorned with buttons. I bought a bag pattern the other day. I'm beginning to wonder why. The fabrics used for this one are some of those I've recieved from my scrappy club.

Have a great day.

Very cute! I'm a bag-lady myself and I sooooooooo agree, some of my favorite ones are the ones I just made up myself.

Excellent bag! I was just telling the ladies at the quilt shop that I think I want to make a quilted bag. It has been a couple months, and I always end up giving all my bags away! That would be a really fun project... hmmm... wonder how many projects a person can have going actively, all at once...

Great bag and just love the contrast between the two fabrics - always love stripes :o)

Love the bag and I think you do wonders without patterns.
