You could be forgiven for thinking my blog is all about food at the moment, particularly preserving! LOL I assure you, I do still sew and normal blogging will resume once preserving season is over and the secret stitching and sewing is completed.
Todays visual offerings include habanero chilli. Tony wanted a batch of evil chilli chutney made with habaneros so I spent some time slicing them all.
They look like such pretty flowers.
And they make a deliciously hot chutney.
He had to scrape the pan and smear it on a cracker to try it out.
He was very happy with the results.
I had traded a bag to tomatoes with Debbie, she brought me Rhubarb so as soon as the pan was cleaned up, in went a load of rhubarb, lemon juice and sugar.
And we have four jars of rhubarb jam.
Well he does, I can't stand the stuff myself. LOL

Sixteen sleeps until Tony and I fly to Sydney.............

EXCITED!

It’s preserves time of year. We have to make the most of it. Oooh! Won’t be long till we see you.
Wow Lou. You are having fun with those chillies and rhubarb. Not long before the bag packing starts.
Lots of delicious jars of goodies there! Love rhubarb myself but I know it's one of those love it or hate fruits! Christine xx
Always so nice to have an overseas trip to look forward too.
Well done on all te preserving...sadly not so good up here for preserves this year with all the wet we've had. Mum used to mix rhubarb with all sorts of things to stretch them...eg Raspbarb jam, etc etc. Dad used to get frustrated when she named a batch Rhuberry - like what berry is it???!!! She'd say you can tell by the colour! Counting down the sleeps here too but I KNOW I'm not nearly asorganised as you are!
LOL - you & Tony can keep the chili stuff - but I'm sure I'd love rhubarb jam...
Lucy Blue is a real story book name, perfect for a quilt. It's amazing when making preserves how many jars are given away, John has that issue with his marmalades.
