Well that didn't happen

I'm sure I mentioned in my last post that I was planning to spend a lot of time working on my Christmas Ornament?
Well, that didn't happen. It was so nice that day That Tony and I decided to go for a walk, then we got stuck into some garden work. That was Thursday.
Friday afternoons plans were also changed. It was another beautiful day, so after an early afternoon walk, we settled at the outdoor table for a game of scrabble in the sun.
It was a lovely way to while away the afternoon, even if he did win!
So my secret stitching time has taken a bit of a knock, but my knitting and other sewing time has not.
Here you see my latest three Frivol blocks.
There is only one left to make and I was soooooo tempted this morning to carry on and finish the top!
Those keeping count will notice that I'm already one ahead of myself!!
Well I had to do something on FNwF didn't I?
So I made up an extra block, before settling down to do some knitting in front of the TV.
I'll make up this final block tomorrow and complete the top to flimsy stage.
I might even manage to find something for the back, but I'm not sure about binding....
I'll keep you posted.
I was going to settle in and watch a movie while I stitched this afternoon, but the IT man is on the floor in front of the TV, his box of tools is nearby and he seems to be working his way through the electronic devices servicing and cleaning them.
No movie watching then!
So I've opted for more chutney making!
I was chatting with a neighbour on my walk the other day and we agreed a trade.
Her empty jars, for some of my full ones!
LOL
Great trade. All done very safely over the garden gate and supervised by her dogs.  I now have enough jars to use up the greenish tomatoes I brought in from the garden the other day.
Here we have the beginnings on Greenish tomato, apple and chilli chutney.
I also brought in these lovely Dahlias.
I was dead heading and snipped a wrong stem by accident, and then, well we couldn't have her getting lonely, so I snipped a few more.
I was all set for an earwig invasion, but not a single one has appeared!
Well that's my news.
I'm off to stir my chutney and look for something to do.
Did you join in with FNwF?

Pretty blocks and definitely a fair trade with the jars and chutney. I think that a lot of board games and jigsaw puzzles have been dragged out of cupboards to be enjoyed once again.

good to get some jars when we really shouldn't be shopping all that much. I'm glad I have a lot of jars stored away but I will need to think of the canning lids soon to keep on hand in case I get a good supply of tomatoes. Love your blocks

I love your dahlias.
We play 2 games of scrabble every day so no wonder I'm not getting much done!

Sounds like a wonderful day, beautiful weather, beautiful flowers, and time spent with a loved one, and (distantly) socializing with a neighbor.

Looks like you made the most of the beautiful sunshine. And why not!
Great progress on the blocks again. Great swap with the jars, too. Win, win all round.
Gorgeous flowers.

Love to hear that others are out walking. Keeps the social network at least somewhat in tact plus it feels good, doesn't it? Your Frivols are lovely as are the dahlias. Have a good week!

That sounds about the perfect way to spend your time, a bit of this and a bit of that. Your jar/chutney swap is ideal.
